It was a miserable rainy day today so we didn’t make it to the boat but we did make progress. In 2008, just as we were rounding the last mark to the marina for haul out, the mizzen boom gooseneck snapped!
We purchased a replacement gooseneck from www.rigrite.com (for an exorbitant price). We drilled and tapped the new gooseneck and plan to install that tomorrow.
…taped all the hardware to the gooseneck so we don’t lose it!
We need to run quite a few wires and replace parts on the mizzen so we removed the mast top. Once we clean up the mizzen top, drill and tap the holes and add new sheaves we will reinstall it.
