This was a planned running around day due to the weather forecast. Although it started out pretty crummy the sun poked out and it warmed up a bit.
I had to cut off a couple of screws from one of the seacocks so I set out to find replacements in bronze. I had heard good things about Fawcett Boat Supply http://fawcettboat.com/ in Annapolis so I decided to take a look. What a great place, and really nice people too! They didn’t have the bronze screws out on display but someone took a look out back and sure enough, they had them! They actually had bronze hex head bolts in the same thread, I’ll take em. I walked around, aisle by aisle, and picked up a few other things that were on the list.
I also received my new sheaves for the mizzen top from Dwyer Aluminum Mast Company. http://www.dwyermast.com/
After wandering the aisles at Fawcett I went over to Canvas Creations by Jabin’s yacht yard. http://www.canvascreationsinc.com/ Dan at Canvas Creations is going to make our hard dodger, bimini and enclosure and today we picked out colors and materials. We are going with Sunbrella linen for the bimini (and sail covers etc.) and a matching awlgrip color for the dodger.
Then across the parking lot to Kato Marine to pick up the lateral stabilizer for the davits. Kato is also custom manufacturing our wind generator mount. http://www.katomarine.com/
Pretty boring day but it’s nice to see things come together. Back to the boat for the next three days, it’s supposed to hit 70 on Friday!!
