We’re back from Rockland, back in Wiscasset. While out there we had to motor quite a bit but in between we did get in some nice sailing.
Always a smile when you’re sailing:
Three sails up and making electricity:
When the wind dies or we are entering an anchorage we have to put the sails away:
We stopped into a favorite anchorage, Oven Mouth. Got to see some seals, this one was taking a rest:
We spent a couple nights in Boothbay Harbor again, then up to Rockland. Passing Owl’s Head:

Sunset in Rockland harbor:
Dinner after a nice sunset:
On the way back from Rockland we spent the night anchored off of Burnt Island, just south of Port Clyde:
While at Burnt Island we saw several bald eagles feasting on a small whale carcass. When we got close they all flew away except this one:
Hurricane Island Outward Bound school on Burnt Island:
We took the dinghy to a small beach on Little Burnt Island and did some beach combing:
Our home in the distance:
Rock surfing:
Sunset, Little Burnt Island:
Fog in the AM:
Back in Wiscasset we have been taking advantage of the cheap lobster prices:
We baked our first loaf of bread:
It was delicious:
We got our stereo installed:
TV installed:
Bimini cover installed over the cockpit:
Once the cover was installed we found it difficult to raise and lower the mizzen sail so we had to install a few mast steps:
Mast steps enable us to climb the mast high enough to reach the sail:
We’ve also been provisioning for our trip south:
Vacuum sealing the meat for freezing:
Oh and we also have to do laundry. While at home we usually do laundry at someone’s home but while away we have to do it ourselves:
We are taking care of a few things with the boat before we head south. It’s getting cold here and we are anxious to get into warmer waters.
great pictures!!
Thank you so much for sharing; it is so fun to see all the places you are going and what you are up to!
