Tobago

Posted by on September 11, 2015

A quick update before we depart Tobago. We are anchored in Man of War Bay, Charlotteville, Tobago and it’s beautiful here! This is another island we have to return to and explore. The people are nice, the island is covered with steep hills of tropical forest; we have not seen this many beaches since the Bahamas, and diesel fuel is 90 cents US per gallon. Wish I had known that before we fueled up in Grenada…

We are anchored at the base of this hill under the fort:

We met “Joe”, he is very nice. The gas station was out of fuel so he had his son drive us to the next town for diesel:

We are traveling with another boat and are planning to depart around noon tomorrow for a lengthy voyage, between three to five days. We will try to keep the position report updated as often as we can along the way. We will update again as soon as we find internet.

    Dave,
Glad to see you are living the dream. I will read up more on your adventures when I get back home. I am currently on vacation to my home State of Michigan. Will be here until the 19th of Sep, then back to the old grind. I am still working for NAVAIR and I do enjoy my job, but would much rather be doing something a bit more pleasant. I am having my Cape Dory 28 re-powered with a new Beta Marine Diesel. I will do some coastal cruising once I retire, but do not plan on doing any extended off-shore stuff like you. Maybe take a run to Cuba once that situation normalizes. Take care bro’. Give my regards to Tanya. S/F, Mike
