Dan from Canvas Creations finished our dodger, bimini, and connector today! The finished product is better than we imagined!!

The windows are very thick, rigid, and very clear almost as clear as glass!

Ducks stop by almost every night, of course we feed them!

We have been working on the solar installation for a couple of days now, it’s proving to be more of a challenge than we anticipated! While I started the panel mounting Tanya put together the combiner. The combiner ties all the panels together in parallel and sends the combined electrical current to the charge controller.

Wiring the combiner box:

All the positive wires from each panel will run to an individual breaker, the negative wires will run to the terminal strip above the breakers, then two wires (+ and -) will run to the controller. Tanya did it all:

We also worked on the solar panel mounting, it’s still not finished! Infancy:

We actually got one of the mounts finished and we “should” get the whole thing mounted on the davits tomorrow.

Eventually we will change the sail covers to match the bimini and dodger…all in good time!

We are getting around to the solar installation also. Today we mounted the charge controller. Tomorrow we will mount the solar panels and wire everything together…I hope…

On another note, we were under the impression that our batteries were dead. While routing around today with a multimeter and doing some basic troubleshooting, we found only one of the three batteries to be dead! When we are able to find a ride, we’ll go get a new battery. Good news!
